Here's your chance - Waitematā Waste Away’s E-Waste Collection for the city centre.

Walk on up - this certainly is a walkable event (unless you are conspicuously consumptive).

Pease read the full flyers for info on what can be brought in for collection.

City Centre Markets - Weekly Saturday 08.30 - 12.30

City Centre Markets - Weekly Saturday 08.30 - 12.30

The City Centre Market focuses on bringing superb fresh produce to the heart of the city, for those living vertically in apartment buildings and who call the city centre home.

In a community that predominantly walks everywhere, the desire to shop at our own market without needing to leave the neighbourhood, is part of the joy of convenience living here brings and has been clearly stated in local research.

Apartment living in urban settings also creates a closer and daily relationship with the immediate physical environment. Starting up a weekly fresh produce market was simply a way of adding icing to an already, very nice cake.

Every Saturday 8.30 - 12.30. At our wonderful Freyberg Place, and Ellen Melville Centre - catch up with the neighbours, meet new ones, listen to music and relax.

City Centre Fresh Produce Saturday Markets

NEW in the Neighbourhood - Fresh Produce Market

OPENING Saturday 28 November, 8.30am – 12.30pm

Weekly on Saturday mornings from 8.30am on Freyberg Place on High St there will be a fresh produce market – veges, fruit, bread, baking, cheese and more…

It’s not just about great food but the potential to enhance the community centre on Saturdays, bringing to life the notion of the village well. With the downstairs room of the centre, the Helen Clark Room/”urban lounge” open, there is time and space to stop, have a coffee and engage as a neighbourhood.

Run by a couple of local residents with the support of the Ellen Melville Centre, there has been much beavering away to make the oft’ spoken of desire of a market for apartment dwellers at the community centre, a reality – our market – a market for us.

If good fresh food (you won’t find a food truck here) and the village well, sound like something you want to support, put the weekly market shop on your radar, come on down and bring a friend. Markets only grow bigger as they receive more support and the stallholder community starts talking about it. To that end if you can carry a poster in your building to help advertise the market here are two posters:
